1. Rock climbing

Calling all rock climbers! Star Mountain, located 2 miles past Gee Creek Campground on Spring Creek Road near the Hiwassee River is a great place for a rock climbing experience. Climbing is a longtime favorite outdoor activity for folks in the Ocoee Region.

The Ocoee Whitewater Center (OWC)  offers many beautiful trails for hiking. Follow the long and windy river for beautiful views and to get your heart pumping. The OWC is home to the 1996 Olympics and is a local favorite.

If you want to go chasing waterfalls, Benton Falls, in the Chilhowee Recreation Area off of Highway 64, is the way to go. It is an easy 1.5 mile trail to see a magnificent 65 foot high waterfall. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this one!
