I absolutely LOVE Whitewater Express This is only my second time rafting the Ocoee, but it will NOT be my last! I absolutely LOVE Whitewater Express. Our river guide, Ross, was the bomb! He kept us safe and gave us one heck of a ride!! Thanks again!!!Chrys K.
Would definitely go with them again! LOVED our whitewater rafting experience on the middle ocoee. Stan really is the man, and we had so much fun we went on a second run with him! We were early in the season and ended up spending a lot of time with the guides and trainees. Everyone there is really professional, careful, but also loves the river and having (safe) fun. Rapids definitely weren’t as “scary” as I anticipated, and my husband (who doesn’t swim) did great also. This seems like a fantastic company. Would definitely go with them again!Quinlyn J.
Great ride! Great guides. (I hope you get Stan the Man and his surf action) a whitewater raft ride is only as good as its guide and gear and they are the cream of the crop!Alina W.
Whitewater rafting at its finest Wonderful guides, beautiful scenery, whitewater rafting at its finest. Definitely will be returning.Cindy Z.
I highly recommend Whitewater Express for your scout activities Great place to raft! They knew how to handle our large Boy Scout groups, and they helped us earn the patch. They staff was friendly and good with kids. Nick was an excellent river guide! The Ocoee camp was amazing, and there are tons of activities and tons of room. They are accommodating to late night arrivals, too. I highly recommend Whitewater Express for your scout activities!Chris R.
Frequently Asked Questions
You do not need experience to raft all trips are Professionally Guided, but you should be comfortable in and around water.
We run trips “rain or shine.” Whitewater rafting is an inherently wet activity, in fact we think this is the very best outdoor activity for a rainy day!
We accommodate 4-6 guests per boat. Occasionally we can accommodate groups of 7, depending on a variety of factors that influence a “game-time” decision.
Reservations are required. A lot goes into the planning of a river trip, including scheduling of guides, photographers and bus drivers. If you are nearby, you can walk-in to see if we have space, but please don’t drive long distances without a reservation as our trips are routinely full in the summertime.
Upon arrival to camp, you will cross over a creek with a concrete road underneath. The horse stables will be on your left and our daily guest parking is to the right. Please park here and leave everything you don’t want to take on your trip in your car (we can hold onto your car keys in the Outpost. Follow the signs up the trail to the Outpost to check-in. For overnight guests, continue on the road past the daily guest parking. When you reach the field, take a sharp left turn and follow the signs to the Outpost.
We ask all our guests to arrive 30-45 minutes prior to you trip. This extra time is to complete our check-in process, and gear up for your Adventure. Please allow time for traffic, wrecks, etc as we cannot wait for latecomers.
Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet (because you will)! We recommend Quick dry activewear, swimsuits, and Sunscreen! Avoid cotton clothing. All our guests must wear shoes that stay on their feet. Swim shoes, Sandals with a heel strap or even old sneakers work great. Flip flops are not recommended and shouldn’t be worn.
We raft on the weekends from mid-March to Memorial day. Five days a week (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from Memorial Day to Labor Day. And weekends from Labor Day to the end of October.
Wetsuits are not needed for the majority of the year as we have warm water for the majority of the year. If you’re rafting during the colder months, we’ve got you covered! Splash Jackets are provided free of charge and Wetsuits are available to rent for $5.
WE ARE ON EASTERN TIME.
Yes. We provide top-of-the-line safety equipment, including raft, personal flotation device, helmet and paddle (and cold-weather gear as necessary).
With over 40 years of experience, Whitewater Express’ risk management procedures are unsurpassed. We train our guides extensively and follow the most up-to-date industry standards. However, it is important that you and your group know this: Whitewater rafting, like all adventure activities, involves inherent risks. It is important that guests know their comfort level and take proper responsibility for their own safety. If Whitewater Express staff feel that any individual is not in the proper condition to raft, we reserve the right to not allow that individual to raft for his or her own safety.
Because memories of your trip are important to us, we have photographers on-standby for each trip (weather permitting). On all of our river trips, you can view your photos as you return from your adventure!
